IL GUFO AURORA - FALL/WINTER COLLECTION 2022/2023
The new Il Gufo collection for Fall Winter 2022/2023 is inspired by the northern lights. It all begins with a sea voyage to the boreal lands: the colours of the icy water mix with the cold tones of the cliffs, but also with the orange and yellow ochre of the small houses that one glimpses when landing at dawn in an imaginary harbour.
TRADITION: THE ITALIAN CROCHET
We have always collaborated with Italian and international excellences to create unique garments that tell a story. What has come about between Il Gufo and Artetica, an Apulian company specialised in hand embroidery, is much more than a project, it’s itself the expression of a synergy between two realities located in the North and South of Italy but with a very strong connection on a common value base.
GENERATION TO GENERATION
The durability of garments has always been intrinsic to our product, which is designed, developed and manufactured to last through the years and pass from generation to generation. The attention to the garment care and maintenance is part of the focus on their use and life.
MATERIALS: THE ECO PADDINGS
Over the years we have selected numerous environmentally friendly filling alternatives, among them Ecodown by Comfortemp®, Valtherm® and Sorona® by Dupont®. Ecodown and Valtherm® are polyester fillings with a high percentage of recycled material: softness and fill power are fully comparable to down. Sorona®, on the other hand, is a polyester filling made from 37% plant-based materials.
Over the years we created traditions and know-how that we pass on through the garments we produce. Style, cuts, embroidery, appliqués, fit are just some of the ingredients that tell of our world of working hands.
Il Gufo shoes are Made in Italy, made with care and a traditional craftsmanship approach. The craftsmen who create them use their knowledge to combine profound know-how with refined, contemporary design.
MATERIALS: ORGANIC COTTON
A percentage of the cotton used in the collection is certified organic cotton fibre. The garments made by organic cotton are marked with the appropriate label, which is a guarantee of the organic origin of the cotton, as well as the production process of the raw material. The certification covers the entire supply chain, starting with the supplier's compliance with high standards related to the quality of work and the use and reuse of resources.
MATERIALS: THE DOWN FILL
The down garments are made with duck feathers from certified farms, in compliance with the international RDS (Responsible Down Standard): an independent certification audited by animal rights associations. The down used is class 1 and guarantees a fill power of 700. Find out how to care for your down garments and how to wash them easily at home.
MATERIALS: SENSITIVE FABRICS
The most impactful form of sustainability involves the production processes: SENSITIVE® FABRIC is born from this principle, combining high performance. Compared to COTTON, the production of SENSITIVE® FABRIC involves: - 55% water use, -76% energy to obtain a product: no ironing, - 55% drying time, x3 durable.
MATERIALS: THE WOOL
The merino wool of Il Gufo collections has the innate qualities of biodegradability, breathability, easy care and durability, it is certified by WOOLMARK® (from the autumn-winter 2022 collection) and SUSTAINAWOOL®, thus guaranteeing high quality standards, certified origin and the 'CUSTODY CHAIN', a system that allows to trace the finished sweater back to the name of the sheep.
