Getting ready for the nursery and third trimester by Andrea Pion
Hello! Hello!! I am so excited to share a baby update with all of you!!! Thank you to Il Gufo for inspiring our sweet little baby corner. This has been a source of inspiration for our baby room, which I will be talking about more below. In the meantime, there's a couple things I can't wait to share, so let's get started!!!
Doctor's Appointments: So as most of you know from my Instagram Stories, last week I had two big doctor's appointments, an anatomy scan with our ultrasound specialist and a OB/GYN appointment to get more blood work and testing done. While it was mostly good news - all my tests came back clear! The babies have in fact shifted. What once was both babies being head down, Baby A is now breeched and Baby B is now transverse (laying sideways) and they're both snuggled up on my left side above my belly button head-to-head - go ahead, you can say, ``awwww!``. While I was a little bummed out to learn the baby A flipped, it is the sweetest news to see and hear that they're cuddled up with one another! Makes my heart so happy! The doctors all think there is still time Baby A could move back to head-down, however.. I personally feel like space is starting to get cramped in there! So I guess we will see! Other updates are that I am to go back every two weeks now, and very soon will be going back every week for check-ups! It's crazy!!! We are down to the wire here! We also had a great anatomy scan. Both babies weighed in at 2.5 oz and 2.4 oz, which were above average for their gestational age (which is 1.97 oz for a singleton baby). So I was thrilled to hear that!! Our boys are growing!!!! Our next anatomy scan is set for 32 weeks, so I'm anxious to see what the next progress report says.
Twin Nursery: As far as the nursery goes, we have finally started construction on it! If you've been following along on my insta stories this week, I shared all the updates! If you missed it, here is a brief play-by-by. We had to clear out my home office (so long shoe wall!) and we had a team come in to fix the ceiling, put an overhead light in and build out the closet to add more shelves and hanging rods. We also had someone come in to better insulate the room, since it gets really cold in there! Next week, we're hoping to have all the holes sealed, primed and finished so when the wallpaper comes in in a couple weeks, it can go on smoothly! We also ordered almost all the furniture, which has been exciting! I am so excited for it to come in and come together!!! Slowly, but surely were making progress. Ralph actually thinks the room is his now, and we keep finding him sneaking away and sleeping in there. Little does he know.... HA!
As far as the twin nursery design comes, I don't want to give too much away just yet! But I will say, the color scheme and classic silhouettes from the Il Gufo baby collection played a huge role in our inspiration. I have yet to find another baby clothing brand that is so on point with the aesthetic we are going for!
Il Gufo has absolutely beautiful standout pieces that are timeless. I wanted to share a couple Il Gufo pieces that I thought were absolutely darling and that I can't wait to see our boys in. So here is a little sneak peak of the vibe were going for with the twin nursery, as well as some of our favorite baby pieces from Il Gufo. I absolutely adore them!!!! From the striped linen dungarees to the crisp white shirts, Il Gufo has absolutely nailed it's Spring/Summer 2019 collection. Hanging them up was so special, I cannot wait to make memories in these pieces and to share them with all of you! Seeing everything come to life definitely helps get through the tougher days of pregnancy. Thank you for letting me share it with you! xx A
