Il Gufo Dolomites

Il Gufo FW21 collection celebrates the brand’s roots, the contact with the nature of the places dear to the company and the people who are part of it.
The Dolomites — a gigantic yet tranquil mountain range and one of nature’s true marvels — are an inexhaustible and close source of inspiration, not only from a stylistic but also from a spiritual point of view. Respect for the mountains, patient waiting and the difficulty of the path that leads to the summit are attitudes that reflect the values that Il Gufo expresses and that can be found in the collection: a great deal of stylistic research, careful selection of raw materials and attention to details are just some of the principles that lead to the creation of high-quality garments.
Garments that children can wear and re-wear, to live with intensity a winter full of outdoor adventures.
Dreams within reach!

The setting of the shots recalls a cosy mountain chalet, the perfect place to rediscover the pleasure of spending unforgettable moments in the company of the closest friends.

Bark_ Like a tree, our strength comes from within. Nature teaches us that being deeply rooted allows us to grow big and strong, like the silver firs and beech trees that grow in the Dolomites. The first part of the collection is inspired by the forests and their warm colours. Outerwear for girls includes a hooded, camouflage-print poncho made from quilted nylon and embellished with contrasting, khaki-green Sensitive® Fabrics detailing, and a boxy, lichen-yellow down jacket with short sleeves. The poncho pairs with a padded skirt in quilted, camouflage-print nylon and a high-neck sweater in extra-fine, lichen-yellow merino wool. The down jacket works perfectly with a pair of khaki-green Sensitive® Fabrics culottes (snug at the bottom and with pockets) and a white, long-sleeved shirt in an organic cotton fabric embellished with a multicoloured flower and foliage motif. Completing the look is a beige crew-neck sweater in extra-fine merino wool, decorated with fully hand-embroidered flowers and leaves in shades of green, yellow and brown.

For boys, the blue corduroy shirt-jacket has a removable gilet inside with a fir-green hood in diamond-quilted nylon, which works nicely over a fir-green hoodie in brushed cotton with a decorative, embroidered, geometric-effect owl and a pair of lichen-yellow corduroy trousers and tobacco-brown suede boots with black leather inserts. Another must-have is the double-faced jacket in fir-green plush fabric with hood and quilted, camouflage-print nylon lining, perfect over a pair of camouflage-print nylon joggers with soft cotton jersey lining and a high-neck sweater in extra-fine, lichen-yellow merino wool—absolute essentials for boys and girls this winter.

Mountain_ Reaching a summit is both a personal challenge and a conquest, one all the more rewarding when achieved with close friends by your side. Clothing for high-altitude adventures is warm, comfortable, technical and brimming with colour. For boys, the ice-grey nylon down jacket with slightly crumpled effect works nicely with a crew-neck sweater in extra-fine merino wool, whose colour fades from anthracite grey to milk white, and grey cargo trousers in Sensitive® Fabrics material. There is a ribbed beanie in cashmere-and wool-blend yarn in shades of blue, white and black with a silicone ‘adventure ski team’ patch on the front and black leather Chelsea boots with tone-on-tone elastic inserts at the sides complete the look. For girls, there is a long, over-sized and flared down jacket in intense blue, which tightens to 3/4 the size thanks to the drawstring at the side, worn with a boxy sweatshirt embellished with nylon mountains filled with eco-padding and an ice-grey fleece Edelweiss flower finished with pompom. The light beige corduroy trousers have cuffs and buttons at the bottom. Grey suede boots with black leather and intense blue suede inserts complete the look.

Lake_ It’s not all about mountain peaks, but ice lakes too, which we skate and twirl on while admiring the pastel colours of the winter sky whose light is reflected by a glistening blanket of snow. For the more romantic, there is a floaty, double-faced, powder-pink skirt with silver elastic waistband, a classic, white long-sleeved shirt with Mandarin collar edged with delicate cotton frills, and a light grey cardigan in extra-fine merino wool. The front part is embellished with a pair of hand-embroidered skates joined together by a pink bow woven into the back of the garment up to the neck. The skate blade is made from contrasting green wool and enhanced by silver lurex thread. A warm beanie in soft, quartz-pink kid mohair wool completes the look. For baby girls, there is a long, soft cardigan in sky-blue kid mohair wool with v-neck and mother-of-pearl-effect buttons down the front, designed to be worn over another sweater in quartz-pink kid mohair wool and a long-sleeved cotton shirt with Edelweiss print against the white background, a Mandarin collar and decorative frills around the neck and cuffs. The culottes are made from mint-green corduroy fabric.

Organic cotton_ Grown using environmentally friendly methods and products, organic cotton is used for both the collection’s knitwear and shirt fabrics. One of the most meaningful pieces is the romantic, green, long-sleeved shirt in 100% organic cotton, embellished with printed white flowers. Details include pleating on the front, collar with miniature ruching and large frills around the armholes at the front and back. The shirt pairs with hair clips and scrunchies made from the same fabric. For boys, there is a soft, navy-blue, crew-neck sweater in 100% warm organic cotton with inlaid hockey player and hand-embroidered details in shades of intense blue, yellow and grey.
